(DGIwire) – Cristie Kerr is one of the most accomplished professional golfers of her generation, with two major championships and 18 titles to her name. She is also a wine enthusiast. Her passion for wines began in 2006 with the creation of Curvature Wines, a partnership with Suzanne Pride Bryant, co-owner of Pride Mountain Vineyard.

Now, in 2016, Cristie Kerr Wines has launched its second wine project, Kerr Cellars, featuring wines produced from the finest and most exclusive vineyards in Napa and Sonoma, California. The small-batch, limited-production wines are meticulously handcrafted from soil to bottle by award-winning winemaker Helen Keplinger.

“It is a privilege to be able to share these exceptionally fine wines, which began production in 2013, with the public,” said Kerr. “Much like golf, it takes a lot of time and patience to be in the wine business, and I have enjoyed crafting these wines with my friend Helen Keplinger. She is an incredible talent.”

Helen Keplinger has served as Kerr Cellars’ winemaker from the outset. The Winemaker for Kerr Cellars since 2013, she is widely recognized as one of the top winemakers in California. She was named “Winemaker of the Year” by Food and Wine magazine in 2012 and in 2014 she graced the cover of Wine Spectator magazine’s June issue.

“Working with Cristie on this project has been exciting and fulfilling,” said Keplinger. “She has incredible vision and an excellent palate, and these wines are stunning.”

Kerr Cellars joins Curvature Wines in Cristie Kerr Wines’ acclaimed brand portfolio. Served in some of the finest restaurants and country clubs, and even the White House, Curvature Wines’ Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon are made by Pride Mountain Vineyard’s renowned winemaker Sally Johnson and have fortified Cristie Kerr’s reputation of knowing her way around the vineyard and blending table.

Kerr Cellars will offer three varietals, all available for purchase in a direct-to-consumer marketplace on a 2013 Pinot Noir, 2013 Reserve Red and 2013 Sauvignon Blanc.

The new wines represent just the latest impressive accomplishment for Kerr. In addition to her golf championships, she is a widely recognized breast cancer spokesperson and activist whose foundation, Birdies for Breast Cancer, has raised millions of dollars to help fight the disease. Proceeds from all Curvature sales are used to further the research for finding a cure. The wines have received many accolades and praises, including being served in the White House.
