Poly Group co-hosted the “The Grand Gathering of the Century: Zodiac Heads from the Yuanmingyuan and Important Treasures”

On July 3rd, the opening ceremony of “The Grand Gathering of the Century: Zodiac Heads from the Yuanmingyuan and Important Treasures”, co-sponsored by Poly Group, China Tourism Group and City University of Hong Kong, was held in Hong Kong. Zhang Hao, Director of Poly Group, started the opening ceremony together with the guests.

In his speech, Zhang Hao said that this exhibition is the second gathering of four zodiac heads in Hong Kong after nearly 20 years, which is of great significance. Poly Group has always been adhering to its positioning of “the creator of a better life”. Poly aims to spread excellent traditional Chinese cultures, and continuously provides “high-end and high-quality” cultural and artistic products and services. I hope this exhibition is an opportunity for us to explore deeper of excellent traditional Chinese cultures with other parties, show the contemporary value of those fine cultures, and continuously enhance the sense of identity and belonging to the national culture. At the same time, with the help of Hong Kong’s international platform and its position as a cultural window, we can help spread Chinese culture and tell the world a good story about China.

After the opening ceremony, the guests went to the Indra and Harry Banga Gallery of City University of Hong Kong to visit the national treasures and cultural relics at close distance and feel the cultural charm.

This exhibition is a breakthrough attempt by Poly Group in promoting the creative transformation and innovative development of fine traditional Chinese cultures and its deep integration with the cultural tourism industry. At the exhibition site, there are not only four of the twelve zodiac heads from the Haiyan Hall of the Yuanmingyuan of Qing Dynasty, namely cow head, tiger head, monkey head and pig head, but also bronze Suigong Xu (ancient container) from the mid-Western Zhou Dynasty and other heavy bronze wares from Shang and Zhou to Han Dynasties. To create an immersive exhibition, OLED interactive display cabinets are specially added, thus making the time-honored cultural relics glow in the digital space, and showing the splendidness of Chinese civilization.

This exhibition is hosted by Poly Culture and Poly Art Museum under Poly Group. Poly Art Museum, Poly Art Center Beijing and Poly Auction Hong Kong ensured the suc cess of the opening ceremony.
